The Big Island of Hawaii Business Conference.

Cancun, Sydney, Las Vegas, Rome, Acapulco, Oahu, and just returning from the Big Island of Hawaii... Can you believe that I actually get paid to go to very powerful and motivational personal development conferences all around the world??? Four years ago I was looking for a way to travel, make money and get untied from my office. Every time I took a vacation my office shut down and it cost my money not only from the vacation, but also the fact that I had to shut down my business as well... This made actually taking and paying for vacations very difficult.

Now in my business, I actually make money everytime I travel. I also get to hang with numerous self-made millionaires. We go to exotic locations, hear phenomenal speakers, mastermind with highly successful people and each time I come home, my home-based business jumps up a couple of levels.

On the first day of the event, my ADD kicked in while in the conference and I check my email on my iphone. Look at that, I thought... I just made $1,000. Yep, that right I made a $1,000 by 9am last Monday morning on vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii and hadn't made any phone calls, talked with anybody about the business or had to make a sales pitch to anyone.... Now that's what I call RESIDUAL INCOME and that's EXACTLY what I came here form.

I Got My Beyond Freedom... So Now What?

The following is from Patrick McCleary
Top Income Earner with LLI and Associate of the Month

You have received your Beyond Freedom. Congratulations! Now what? You open the box and look at everything. You are excited! You watch the DVD, listen to a CD, read through the workbook. “Great stuff”, you say. You open the journal book and date the pages. You are ready for this incredible journey to change your life for the better. Or are you? What about all of the other things going in your life – your work, your business, your family, your priorities, etc. Don’t they come first?

For most people, they do. That is where the problem lies. We spend most of our lives reacting to our outer world and backing that up every now and then with some work on our inner world. This is not the formula for success. In order to reach our full potential in life, in order to Play Life Full Out, our number one priority must be our inner game focus. We must commit to some personal development on a daily basis as our number one priority every day. Success and abundance can be ours if we first focus on our personal development and then back that up with our other priorities in life. This is the secret to success. This is the magic dust!

The Beyond Freedom can be a powerful tool for changing our life. I emphasize the words “can be.” It is really up to us. Beyond Freedom is the constant and we are the variable. It is a proven system that has positively affected thousands of peoples’ lives. What is the difference between the people that are positively affected by Beyond Freedom and those who are not? It is consistency! You will not change for the better if you do the program a few days here and there. You will not change if you only listen to the CD’s. You will change by applying yourself to Beyond Freedom 30 minutes per day. You will change by being present with the program and doing all aspects of the program consistently – the DVD, the CD’s, the workbook and exercises, the journal book, the goal achievement system. Ask yourself, is this too much to ask of me?

A window washer washes windows form 9 to 5 every day. A bank teller dispenses and receives money for the bank from 9 to 5 every day. A hair stylist cuts hair from 9 to 5 every day. Their work is their life. They get paid a specific amount of money to do their work. This is how they view their life. Some of these people dream of a better way. Until they take action to change their circumstances, this is their life, their dharma. What about us who know the magic dust? What do we have to do in order to reach our full potential? All we have to do is commit to our personal development every day. All we have to do is commit to learning how to get out of our own way – to remove our limitations and limiting beliefs and the stuff that has been holding us back. Thirty minutes per day. It is that simple.

When we get in our core being that we create first from our mind-set, our life can become effortless. We must learn that it is not the work that we do or the ad that we place that brings us success. When we realize that it is that state of our mind-set that brings us the success, and when we have learned how to master the mind-set game, we will have learned how to master the game of life. We will know how to Play Life Full Out.

Beyond Freedom is our Rolls Royce. Our goals and intentions are the destination. Our wonderful community of like-minded people is the GPS system helping to point us in the right direction. Who are we? We are both the driver and the gas that makes our beautiful vehicle go and reach its destination. If we get into the car and it has no gas, no matter what we do, it will not go anywhere. The gas is applying ourselves on a consistent basis with our personal development. It is the fuel for reaching our dreams. It is the catalyst for change and reaching our full potential in life. Take your Rolls Royce for a spin everyday. It will be the ride of your life!

The Best Investment is Yourself!

Warren Buffett, one of the smartest and most successful businessmen of our time, was recently asked what he thought was the best investment anyone could make in these difficult times.

His answer was fast and simple ...

"The most important investment you can make is in yourself."

That could very well be the best advice Mr. Buffett has ever offered. If ever there was a time to take control of your future, it's now.

Never before have we faced such perilous times.

A free-falling stock market is jeopardizing the comfortable retirement of millions. Once rock-solid, mainstay companies are struggling to survive. Millions of blue and white-collar jobs are on the line. In fact, a just-released government report talks about 533,000 jobs lost in November alone -- the most in a single month in 34 years.

And a lot of experts agree -- the worst is yet to come.

But there's a small group of people who have risen above it all.

They're folks who don't have to worry about a free-falling stock market -- or if their jobs are going to be there at the end of the day.

In fact, these people don't even have "jobs" as most people know them.

On a typical day, they'll wake up, make a cup of coffee, read the paper, maybe go for a run or get a little exercise...

And when they're good and ready, they'll saunter over to their laptop -- and begin their day.

No alarm clocks buzzing. No drive through rush-hour traffic. No bosses looking over their shoulder.

Heck, they don't even have to get dressed if they don't want to.

Yet they have an opportunity to make much more money than the average full-time "work-a-day" Jane...

$50,000.

$100,000.

$200,000.

Many (who choose to spend more time at it) are making $500,000 a year or more.

Better still, they're making that kind of money doing fun and interesting "work." Using their minds and their creativity -- while providing an essential, very-much-in-demand service to a $2.3 trillion (and still growing) industry that's virtually recession-proof.

And it's all because they took Mr. Buffett's good advice long before he gave it:

They made a simple, yet all-powerful, investment in themselves that will pay off for them for the rest of their lives.

I highly recommend you do the same today. Especially today...

There's Only ONE League... Liberty League

So how did I end up here? Two and a half years ago I was doing like most of the other 97% of our society and just spinning my wheels going nowhere fast in my business and personal life. Luckily, I already owned my own business (as a chiropractor) so I was at least my own boss, but I found myself spending way too much time in my office and not making what I had always thought I would. I was 28 and full of life and energy but had no time off or money to live my life to the fullest. I wanted to travel, not be tied to my office and live, as most people would say… “the good life.”

After 5 years of practicing chiropractic, I felt in a rut. My life had been changing for the better, but it was happening slowly. So I started searching for a way to reach my goals faster. I knew I needed at 100% portable business so I could travel, that didn’t require many hours so I had time to play, and a business where I could at least my $250,000 per year so I could… “live the good life.”

Then I started looking…. I was blown away….I couldn’t imagine how much “junk” was out there. People promised me millions to stuff envelopes, hold meetings, sell vitamins and potions, start an ebay business, etc., etc…. I didn’t like the sound of any of it.

I then came across a business and company that was just… well... different. I called a woman whose ad I saw and she didn’t try to pressure me into buying something, there were no high pressure sales, she didn’t “spill the beans” to every fact and detail about her business, what she did was ask me what I wanted in a business. Instead of a sales pitch, I really felt her concern for my business needs and her willingness to see if her opportunity could meet those needs. Instead of just a number or a sale, I actually felt like a person and it was as if I as applying for a “real” job, the only catch was that this was a business where I would be my own boss.

The next step was hearing a business presentation. It took about 25 minutes and clearly explained the company, products and compensation plan. After hearing the compensation plan I could not believe the profit margins. I had never been introduced to a business where with just a small handful of sales per month, I could easily get to my income goal of $250K per year. For once the comp. plan worked in favor of the associate not the company where just the owners get rich.

To make a long story short, I jumped in with both feet and haven’t ever looked back. Two years later at the ripe old age of 31, I have been able to semi-retire from chiropractic. I still work as a chiropractor but only about 10 hours per week because I really do love it. I spend another 10-15 hrs. per week working from home or anywhere else that I am. And traveling??? Well, I live in Hawaii, which isn’t too bad, but in 2007 alone I went to Cancun (twice), Australia, Las Vegas (twice), Atlanta, San Diego (5 times), Denver, Maui, Kaui, Vancouver/Whistler Canada, Portland Oregon, and Cuba. And those are the one’s I can remember. As for the first 45 days in 2008, I started off in Whistler skiing for New Years flew back to Hawaii, then to Miami for 5 days, came home for another week and then went to Las Vegas. Needless to say I actually happy to stay home for a month or two but will get right back into to mix of different culture and civilizations when I go to Italy, France, and Germany in March of 2008.

Traveling all the way from Hawaii is not short or inexpensive flights and I never would have been able to take the time off or afforded all the traveling just from my chiropractic office. I was able to do all that because I made the decision 2 ½ years ago to change my life and current situation and found the right opportunity to do so.

This business is not for everyone. But is definitely a way out. Out of that dead end job, out of the 9-5 routine, out from under those never ending bills, and so much more. The real question is… “What do YOU want?” and my question to you is….. “How bad do you want it?”

There are a lot of businesses out there that make a lot of false promises, have tried to copy Liberty League and that shut down as quickly as they start up. If you are looking for a legitimate company with a proven track record, and a very simple and easy system to make a lot of money, remember that there is only ONE league to be in… LIBERTY LEAGUE… You can contact me anytime for questions at info@vellalifestyle.com or go to www.VellaLifestyle.com.

Another Day of Adventure in Mexico! Cenotes...

I have been in Playa del Carmen for almost 3 days now. I'm staying in Playa Palms beach hotel (see http://www.playapalms.com/) and absolutely love it here. Today I got up, made some calls through Skype on my laptop, and then went for a swim in the emerald green water that is 50 meters from my balcony. It is surreal to me that I can actually conduct business with just a laptop and internet connenction from anywhere on the planet.

For so long I have been educated and trained that I had to get a "good" job, work from one location, and build up a nice little nest egg to retire on. If that doesn't sound like a boring average life I don't know what does. So after practicing chiropractic for 6 years and wishing everyday that I was out traveling and seeing the world, I stumbled upon an opportunity that drastically changed my life.
I'm now in Mexico traveling, doing exactly what I want, and actually spending a hour or two each day working and making money.... Amazing!!! For more info, go to http://www.VellaLifestyle.com/. This blog is written to talk about living NOT working.

So today, since it is raining out, I'm off to snorkel underground in a Cenote. This is essentially a fresh water sink hole in the Yucatan penninsula. As wikipedia describes it:

"Cenotes have long been the principal sources of water in much of the Yucatán Peninsula, as there is an almost complete lack of any rivers throughout the region, and the lakes are scarce and often swampy in quality. Cenotes therefore are widely-distributed year-round water supplies of suitable quality. Major Maya settlements required access to adequate water supplies, and therefore cities, including the famous Chichén Itzá, were built around these natural wells. Some cenotes like the Cenote of Sacrifice in Chichén Itzá played an important role in Maya rites. It was believed that these pools were gateways to the other world, and valuable items were sometimes thrown into the cenote."
I arrived at the cenote just in time for the final tour of the day with only one other person. We were loaded into a vehicle that somewhat resemeble a truck with no body and a cage on back that we were supposed to stand in and go into the jungle where the cenote is. We got wetsuits on and snorkel gear and heading off into the jungle.

We were lead by Ricardo, the guide, to a spot in the jungle where there was a hole in the ground with a ladder that descended about 20ft.

The cenote had many caverns and had sparse lighting throughout. There were limestone stalactites and stalagmites, some that were several meters long. I later learned that these grow extremely slow at a rate of 1 centimeter every 10 years.

The freshwater was clear and cool and even had some small fish.

The energy in this place was amazing. I didn't know whether to look up at the ceiling or in the water. We swam through 4 or 5 different caverns, some were dark and some were very well lit. Of all the places on earth I have been, there was definitely some special energy about this place.

There is a documentary series put out by the BBC called Planet Earth. The entire 6 CD set is at Wal Mart for about $50. If you haven't seen any of these documentaries they are truly amazing. About 4 months ago, I watch the segment on Caves where I saw these Cenotes for the first time. That was some of the most amazing footage I have ever seen on TV.

What is amazing is that only 4 months later, there I am snorkeling and swimming in the same Cenotes. If it wasn't for my strong desire to live life full out, seek out my dreams of traveling and adventure, and for the great opportunity Liberty League has provided me, these adventures probably would not have taken place.... At least not so soon.

A Day and a Lifetime in Cuba

I've always had a desire to go to Cuba before "the Beard" falls. To see first hand a communist country, what the people are like, and maybe just because as Americans, we're not "supposed" to go.

On October 5th, I was finally on my way. I flew overnight from Honolulu to Los Angeles, Los Angeles to Denver, Denver to Cancun where I arrived the next day at 3pm. After arriving to Cancun I went to the Mexicana ticket counter and bought next ticket Havana, Cuba which put me arriving in Havana about 10:30pm. About 22hrs total of traveling.

Before I went, I bought the Lonely Planet guidebook as I have done for so many other countries that I have traveled to. I gave me details on places to stay, things to do, and of course all the warnings. It did say to bring a lot of cash and that American credit cards and debit cards do not work in Cuba. For this reason I reserved my room at the Hotel Nacional online before I left the States. I also paid for it online and got a confirmation. I planned on taking about $300 USD with me for meals and drinks. I figured that should be fine for about 4 days.

When I arrived to Mexico I converted my cash to pesos and then when arriving to Cuba planned on converting my pesos to "convertables" or CUC the Cuban currency for tourists in Cuba. Since we pay about 20% on the USD for conversion I figured I'd get a better exchange rate with pesos.

So I arrived in Havana after 22 hrs. of traveling, got a taxi and was on the way to Hotel Nacional in hopes of catching some Cuban music and mojitos before the night was over.

When I got to the hotel, I checked in and they said that they had my reservation but, that my payment did not go through. This took me by surprise as I had the confirmation. I had about $275 CUC with me and the room per night was $120 CUC. They said I had to pay in cash and I quickly did the math and realized I barely had enough for 2 nights. I said asked them to re-run my credit card and they told me, which I knew from reading the guidebook, that no credit cards, debit cards or wire transfers are accepted in Cuba from U.S. banks. I asked them to what are my options and they replied with blank stares and "Sir, what are YOU going to do?" I said, that surely I couldn't be the first that this has happened to and there must be a way for a "Gringo" like myself to get some money. They said to come back in the morning....

So I paid for the night and got my room. By now it is about midnight and I really want to just have a mojito and to listen to some music. So I went down to the bar, order a mojito for $4 CUC, wow, about $7 USD for a mojito... I thought Cuba was supposed to be cheap. Turns out I couldn't be farther from the truth. So I'm sitting the bar and started talking with this girl who turns out is from Cuba and I'm telling her my story of all I went through to get there, my problem with the credit cards, etc. She said not to worry and she knew someone who accepted all credit cards and would get me money for a percentage. I read that in Cuba, providing you don't have a card from a U.S. bank they charge an additional 10-20% of the amount if you use a credit card. Once again doing some math in my head I was guessing this guy would probably be charging me 25-40% extra for a cash advance. The problem was it was Saturday night, and he doesn't open on Sundays, so I would have to wait until Monday. So I ordered another mojito, and talked with this girl, ask what she did and she said "massage." I told her that I'm a chiropractor and she hadn't a clue what that was.... which I found interesting as most "real" massage therapists know exactly what a chiropractor is. Red Flag #1 is now going up. Upon a little more talking I asked her what type of massage she specialized in and she replied with a gleam in her eye..."full body massage." Uh oh... I've seen that look... Red Flag #2 is going up. I've been in Cuba for all of an hour and I just told, what I now believe is a Cuban hooker, my whole story, that I, just arrived, have many credit cards, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get some money. I now think it's time to leave as the red flags couldn't be waving stronger unless they poles they were on, were beating me over the head. . So before I left she made sure to give me her number and said no problem she can surely help me just call her in the morning.

So I'm off to see the town and hopefully not to spend much money as I don't know how long it will last. I went down the street sat in a sidewalk cafe next to a club and had a beer. The music sounded good in the club so I went and, ordered another beer, drank it,danced a little, watched mostly and left. The place was crowded, hot, smelly, and just really not my cup of tea.

I got back to my room at 3a.m and fell into bed exhausted. Problem was I couldn't sleep as I was so worried about how the hell I'm going to get some money. I tossed in turned all night, had dreams about walking through the streets of Havana with no money.

I woke up the next day, had the complimentary breakfast, and went to the front desk for help. They said I could re-register online and probably pay online. Sidenote: in Cuba, the locals are not allowed internet. Thank God tourists are so I went online and re-registered and when through every single credit card I have trying to purchase extra nights in the hotel. Every time... Transaction Declined. I then emailed a friend outside of the U.S. asking if it would be possible to send me about $200 Euros if I cannot get money. I figured if I'm in a vice, this might be the only way to get some money.

I walked around the hotel took some pictures and thought about my options. Find a cheaper place to stay, and hope to get through until Monday. Call my "new friend" and see if her friend could do me a favor and get me money today (Sunday). I imagined this would double the already sky high interest rate. Or, flying back to Mexico get cash and return to Cuba. This would be the last resort of course.

As the time ticked closer to the check out time... I rechecked my email, no answer about the money yet for the wire transfer, tried again to pay for a room at this hotel and several others in Havana, no luck, and then recounted my money. I have $75 CUC left... Great.... As my options slowly disappeared and I was due to check out or pay... I tried calling the airlines to see if they even had any flights back to Cancun, Jamaica, or anywhere else that I could get out of Cuba and get some money. So far this has not been the relaxing or fun vacation I was thinking of... I have been stressed for days traveling and now being here.

As most of you know, I'm not one to quite and I usually can make good of any situation... I had a gut feeling like the cards were not in my favor and I better make a decision. I also figured that calling the only person who actually offered to help me... the Cuba massage/hooker was even a worse idea..... I'm taking the safe route... head back to the airport and hopefully catch a flight, somewhere.

With $75 CUC left, the cab ride was $25, got to the airport, talked with the ticket lady, Yes, there is a flight at 3:30pm, it is now 12:30pm. Cost to change the ticket and return to Cancun was $20 CUC. Upon, changing my ticket there is the departure tax, which the tax that many 3rd countries charge on order to tap that last little bit of money out of you before you leave. Cost of this $25 CUC... Wasn't sure exactly how much I had left, check my money belt, Thank God, I have $32 CUC left and some coins. I paid for the tax, bought some pins of Cuba (my only souveniers) and went through security. I hadn't eaten lunch and had some time before my flight so I went to the cafe and I had EXACTLY enough left for a ham and cheese sandwich and one last mojito. As I'm standing there eating, I realize that although I had taken several photos, I had not taken any of myself in Cuba. I had my camera and asked the lady next to me to take a photo of myself with the flag in the background. Well, I must have looked pretty handsome because that when the other beautiful woman asked me if I wanted to take a picture of her. With one look I said "of course," how could I resist due to her shear beauty (see the pic to the right of page). I never caught her name but she'll always be know to me as "Black Beauty."

After falling in love with my new Cuban girlfriend, I finished my mojito, finished my sandwich, boarded the plane and got the hell out of Cuba.

I arrived back in Cancun, Mexico only 21 hours after I had left. It felt like a lifetime. I was so glad to be back and there was no way I was going back to Cuba. I went to the cash machine, it worked! I rented a car, and drove south to a beautiful place call Playa do Carmen. I have a beautiful room with balcony over the water, it's 1/2 the price of the hotel in Cuba and now I'll spend the next few days just relaxing on the beach and exploring the jungle before attending the Liberty Conference at the Moon Palace on Thursday October 11th.

So, that is my Cuban adventure, hope you enjoyed the story as much as I did. I've told it several time already and thought making it into a blog along with my other upcoming travels would be a great way to share it with you.

Follow your dreams and don't be afraid of turning them into reality. I have always dreamed of going to Cuba while it's still under the Castro regime, and I must say, that it was, with it's troubles, a truly amazing experience. Don't ever let your fears, limits, or even a trade embargo, stop you from attaining your goals in life.

Stay posted on this blog for my next adventure.
